Outfit of the Day (Off)

First of all, happy birthday to Ed Sheeran! His music is truly inspiring and creative and can get me through any day. I can't believe its been exactly a year since I saw him live in concert!
As today is a day off from school, I don't have to wear my uniform (yay!), so I thought I would do an outfit of the day. For the most part I'm just going to be hanging around the mall with some friends and maybe stopping by the beach since here in California its all clear skies and 70 degrees. So I figured it would be best to go with comfort and simplicity.

The shorts here I actually got from a friend who outgrew them, but they're from Pink by Victoria's Secret. I think at one point the shorts used to be longer but she cut them herself which also gave them the edgy fringe look. The top here is super flowy with a black collar, which I got from Forever 21. I paired that with my favorite denim jacket from Cotton On and a cute bow for my hair from Icing.

With the bow I just pulled my hair into a messy bun and pinned it to the bottom:

I hope everyone has a great Monday!

Today I was so happy to come home to a package waiting on my doorstep! A few weeks ago I had ordered some vinyl records and a book, It by Alexa Chung. I heard so many great things about this book and I had been seeing it everywhere. It finally came!

So far I've only read a little bit into it, but there's some great pictures and little words of inspiration.
In other news two days is Valentine's day. I dont think I'm going to do anything special for it besides eat chocolate and maybe hang out with friends. I like the idea of Valentine's day though because all the hearts and decor everywhere are so warm and happy!

Spring nail polish

As winter is almost over (yay!) its time to look put away the black and sliver polish and break out neon and pastels.
One of my favorite colors for springtime is a robin's egg blue because its calming and not too "out there"

(this is Gargantuan Green Grape (interesting name haha) NL B44 by OPI)

My next favorite is a light light pink/creme polish because it's a classic look and goes with anything

(this is Pippa #2041 by Juliep)

Also i always look forward to springtime because of all the new collections released! I love the cute little bottles that these polishes come in and i always look forward to hearing the silly names they come up with for each polish. I think i got this collection last year, so it may not be available anymore, but its the Euro Centrale collection by OPI. The pink is more on the neon side but the blue and the purple have more of a pastel affect. I also kept the box because i love the watercolor designs

As much as i do love my trusty black polish its always nice to take a break and lighten up during the spring!
